Keeps the tire chains tight and in place - thus maximizing the life of the tire chains. Especially on large tires such as farm tractors, loaders, and graders, it is extremely difficult to take the slack out of the tire chains. Our Spring Tire Chains Tensioners are fully adjustable and are a must for best performance. These large spring tensioners are extremely heavy duty and weigh 12 lbs per set. Competitors sell the same tractor tensioner for over $100 per pair. We price ours at almost the 1/2 price, since we know how important it is to have tight tire chains and everyone should use them. Mounts to the side chain on the outside of the tire. One pair per set is recommended.

Spring Tensioners

I bought these spring tensioner's for a set of tractor tire chains I purchased from tirechain.com. The tensioner's came with the tire chains...excellent shipping...actually came next morning after ordering before 1PM previous day.
The tensioner's are made very well, very strong, very stout. Installing the tensioner's was tough with the load binder and worked fine to get them in place "loosely." I then used my own web ratchet strap to really stretch the spring out and attach the tensioner chains to the tire chain. THAT final action got everything snug and ready for work. Would purchase again, no problem. Thought the price was a bit high for the tensioner's, but, you want something that's gonna stay in place, not slip or break when its muddy or when its icy/snowy and down to single digits in temp. Spend the extra money and get them.

Fantastic product. Would have been 5 stars if it had instructions. Took awhile to figure out how it worked

Chain tensioners are great. They come with hook to grab on the main tire chains

Tensioner and Binder work great. Had to guess at the tensioning, but since the chains didn't come off I think I have it correct.
